Thrustodyne

About

We would rather be right than be building.

A small, generalist team that gets paid to find out what is worth doing before anyone starts doing it.

Based in Mumbai. Working with clients wherever they are.

Thrustodyne exists because too much software gets bought before anyone has established it was the right thing to buy — and then quietly abandoned once it turns out it was not.

We are a small, generalist team based in Mumbai, working with companies wherever they are. Our clients are not technology businesses and have no interest in becoming one: they run trading floors, manufacturing lines, distribution networks and service operations that have outgrown spreadsheets and WhatsApp threads. What they want is for the technology to stop being their problem. We start by understanding how the operation actually runs, then build what is worth building, operate it if that is what suits, or replace it outright when nothing off the shelf can represent the way they work.

How we work

Small team, direct access

We find out before we recommend

A vendor paid to build has every reason to say yes. That is not a character flaw, it is an incentive — which is why we sell the finding-out as its own piece of work, priced and delivered on its own terms. Sometimes the honest answer is that an off-the-shelf product does the job, and we would rather tell you that than bill you for agreeing with you.

You talk to the people building it

There is no account layer between you and the work. The person who writes the architecture decision is the person who explains it to you, so answers come back with reasoning attached instead of a summary of someone else's reasoning.

Scope gets argued about before it gets built

Most of what goes wrong was decided in the first two weeks. We spend that time on the problem itself: who uses this, what breaks today, what "done" means. We will push back on a brief we think is wrong before writing code against it.

Leaving is never made difficult

Audits are yours outright. Build sprints hand over documentation whether or not you continue. Systems we operate include a standing data-export right, and custom platforms put source-code ownership in the contract on day one. None of that is a concession at the end of a relationship — it is a term at the start of one.

Start with the audit

Tell us how your operation runs today and where it hurts. We will tell you what the audit would cover and what you would have at the end of it — before you commit to anything.
